What's Included in Your RON Technology Fee ($25.00)
Your upfront $25.00 RON Technology Fee ensures a completely compliant, seamless experience. Every session systematically provisions and covers:
-
Identity Verification (KBA) Included
State-mandated Knowledge-Based Authentication and credential analysis powered by Pactima to securely validate your identity.
-
Live Audio-Video Stream Included
Access to a secure virtual signing room to execute documents face-to-face with our commissioned Texas notary.
-
Session Guests Free
Invite third-party observers, corporate partners, or legal counsel into your live session room as guests at zero extra cost.
-
First Notarial Act Included
Your initial notarial act (first seal and certificate) is fully covered. Each additional notarial act — meaning each separate certificate the notary must execute and seal — is billed separately at $10.00 per document.
How Extra Signatures & Notarizations Work
To keep pricing predictable for complex transactions, additional line items are priced strictly according to Texas statutory caps:
-
Additional Signatures (Same Certificate Block) $1.00 each
If multiple signers are listed within the exact same notary certificate block, the first signer is covered by the session, and each additional signer's signature is processed at the state-capped limit of $1.00.
-
Extra Notarial Acts & Certificates $10.00 each
Each document that requires the notary to execute a separate notary certificate — meaning a separate digital signature and seal application from the notary — is billed at $10.00 per document.
-
Self-Proving Affidavit (Oath to Witnesses) +$1.00 per witness
If your document includes a self‑proving affidavit that requires the notary to administer a formal oath to the witnesses and notarize their signatures, an additional $1 per witness signature applies. This covers the administrative oath required to make the document self-proving in court.
Witness Requirements
Some legal documents require one or more witnesses in addition to the notary. Lone Star Signings does not source or supply witnesses. If your document requires witnesses, you must bring your own qualified individuals to the session.
-
Bring Your Own Witness Free
You can invite your own qualified witnesses directly into the signing room. Simply add them as a guest to your session at zero extra cost. Note: If your document includes a self‑proving affidavit, the notary will charge $1 per witness signature to administer the oath and notarize their names.
Important — Witness Identity Verification: Every witness must independently verify their identity before entering the session. This requires a valid, unexpired government photo ID and successful completion of the mandatory 5-question Knowledge-Based Authentication (KBA) quiz, which pulls from U.S. credit records and requires a valid U.S. social security number. Please confirm your witnesses can pass these checks before your appointment to avoid session delays.
